Question 1

Is it possible to find cheap apartments near UCSD?

Accepted Answer

Yes! While housing near UCSD can be expensive, there are affordable options. Shared rooms (doubles and triples) often fall under $1000/month; private rooms and some studios typically run $1500–2000. Apartments a short walk or bike from campus offer the best value.

Question 2

What's included in the rent for budget apartments?

Accepted Answer

This varies by property. Some include utilities (water, electricity, internet); others charge separately. Always confirm what's included before signing a lease.

Question 3

When should I start looking for affordable housing?

Accepted Answer

Start your search 3–4 months before your desired move-in date. Affordable units near UCSD are in high demand and often get leased quickly, especially for fall semester.
