Terms of Service

UniShack ("we," "us," or "our") operates the UniShack website and related services that help students find off-campus housing and help housing providers list properties. By using UniShack, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Age restriction

You must be at least 18 years old to use UniShack, create an account, list a property, or opt in to SMS. If you are under 18, you may not use the service.

The service

UniShack is a student housing marketplace. Students can browse apartments, sublets, roommates, and dorms. Property managers and landlords can list properties and receive inquiries. We are not a landlord, broker, or party to any lease. Listings, prices, and availability can change, and you should confirm details directly with the housing provider.

Accounts

You are responsible for the information you provide and for activity on your account. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms or that we reasonably believe are being used for abuse or fraud.

Listings, inquiries, and user content

If you post a listing, message, review, or other content, you grant UniShack a license to host, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate the marketplace. You represent that you have the right to share it and that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge. We may remove content that is misleading, unlawful, or otherwise harmful to the service.

Paid features

Some property-manager tools and promotional placement may require payment. Fees, if any, are described at checkout or in a separate agreement. Free listing access, lead limits, and paid features may change over time.

SMS program

UniShack offers an optional SMS program for property managers and leasing teams. If you opt in, we may send text messages about property listings, student inquiries, and related business coordination (for example, follow-ups on a listing or an inquiry from a student). You can opt in on our property manager text updates page. Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of purchase and is not required to use UniShack or to list a property.

To opt out, text STOP to any UniShack SMS. After you text STOP, we will send a confirmation and then stop SMS from that program. Text HELP for help. You can also email contact@unishack.com or call (831) 400-9808.

Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. How we collect and use SMS-related information, including that we do not share SMS opt-in data with third parties for their marketing, is described in our Privacy Policy.

Acceptable use

Intellectual property

UniShack's name, branding, software, and original content are owned by UniShack or its licensors. You may not copy or reuse them except as needed to use the service or as we expressly allow. Campus housing guides follow our Editorial Policy.

Disclaimers

UniShack is provided as is. We do not guarantee that a listing is available, that a housing provider will respond, or that using the service will result in a lease. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of UniShack. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered SMS.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of UniShack after an update means you accept the revised terms.
