Cedar

Cedar is a UCLA undergraduate hall in De Neve Plaza on the Hill. UCLA Housing lists it as De Neve Plaza - Cedar at 301 Charles E. Young Drive West, Los Angeles 90024. UniShack places it about a 6-minute walk from campus. Cedar is one of De Neve Plaza’s smaller buildings, grouped with Acacia, Birch, Dogwood, Evergreen, and Fir. Those plaza halls sit in De Neve Court with Dykstra Hall and De Neve Residence Hall (Gardenia and Holly). Residential Life’s De Neve East community covers Acacia, Cedar, and Dogwood. Plaza residences are double and triple occupancy, with private bathrooms or bathrooms shared by an adjoining room. Official plaza amenities include air conditioning, study lounges, community laundry rooms, and social spaces used for programs during the year. Each room is furnished with a twin XL bed, desk, and dresser (closet and drawer space) for every resident. UCLA lists approximate De Neve Plaza rooms as 11 feet by 12 feet. In Cedar, laundry is on the lobby level and a water refill station is on the ground floor. De Neve Court’s 24-hour front desk is in Acacia at 351 Charles E. Young Drive West. For 2026–2027, the Gender, Sexuality, and Society Living Learning Community is on the fourth floors of Cedar and Dogwood (plaza rooms with private bathrooms). That community focuses on gender identity, sexual orientation, sexual health, and social justice. Undergraduates can request up to three living-learning communities on the housing application. An on-campus housing contract includes a required meal plan and cannot be accepted without one. UniShack does not assign rooms. Newly admitted freshmen who apply by May 1, 2026 are eligible for four consecutive years of housing. Confirm dates, room types, and hall preferences on the official UCLA Housing portal.
